MIL-F-81738 – Flare, Aircraft, Parachute, MK 45 Mod 0 (No S/S Document)

This specification covers the manufacture and preparation for delivery of the Flare, Aircraft, Parachute, MK 45 Mod 0, the MK 45 Aircraft Parachute Flare and Drogue Tray, and the methods of examination and tests upon which product acceptance shall be based. The flares or Mk 45 drogue trays are a delay type flare, designed for launching from aircraft, which produce a parachute suspended illuminating candle. The flare or Mk 45 drogue tray is classified as Class B Explosives (Code of Federal Regulations 49 CFR 71-78) ad IIC Explosive (Coast Guard Rules and Regulations for Military Explosive and Hazardous Munitions CG 108).
